christmas in nan's garage
Carrie and I just got back from our first Christmas in New Mexico since we moved to Las Vegas in 2007. We saw her family and mine and had a fun time. I met my new niece, Rayna, and she is just fantastic. She’s 6ish weeks old, has big eyes, and moves around a lot while she’s dreaming. I’m hoping she will learn the drums soon and join the band.
Nan is Carrie’s grandma, and she asked me to write a song about Christmas in her garage; she sets up tables and chairs for a big family meal every Christmas Eve. I didn’t get a whole lot written, but I’m thinking I might expand it before next Christmas. (We did improvise a little when I played it in the garage.) This take is from a portable recorder Carrie got me, just to test out the sound. And I like it. Be on the lookout for some RB live albums in the near future.
